Hello, I’m Alan Steadman. I’m a voice-over artist based in Scotland
I have over 40 years’ experience as a radio broadcaster working on national, local and on-line stations.
In 2016 I became the current voice of the BT Speaking Clock, the first Scottish voice to be used on this iconic service.
I am also an experienced voice-over artist; clients have included:
United Arab Emirates Airways
BT
BBC
The Scottish Office
Historic Scotland
Scottish Seafood Association
Tamnavulin Malt Whisky
Age Concern
LNER
What do you get?
More and more VO work these days is aimed at the older generation. As someone who falls into that category, I am ideally suited to this particular area whether in public service notifications, information videos and advertising on radio, TV and Social Media.
How do I sound?
I have a mature, neutral Scottish accent once described as, “Like being wrapped in a warm blanket!”.
I am noted for having authentic, easy-going, warm and versatile personas.
